A true pioneer. A teacher of fundamentals. And a man whose impact on this profession is both profound and enduring.
Watch Induction VideoAnother member worthy of recognition in the world of direct selling and personal development is a man whose influence has shaped not just businesses, but entire generations of leaders.
While many in this profession are known for building organisations or companies, this individual built something far more far-reaching people.
Born in 1930 in Yakima, Washington, Jim grew up on a small farm in Idaho and experienced humble beginnings.
At the age of 25, struggling financially and searching for direction, he was introduced to entrepreneur John Earl Shoaff. That meeting would prove to be a turning point in his life. Under Shoaff’s mentorship, he entered the world of direct selling, where he built one of the largest organisations in his company.
By the age of 30, he had become a millionaire. However, his journey was far from smooth, he lost his fortune just a few years later, only to rebuild it again.
Over the years, he delivered thousands of seminars and spoke to millions of people around the world, teaching a philosophy centred on personal responsibility, discipline, and self-development.
His philosophy was simple but powerful: success is not something you pursue, it is something you attract by the person you become.
He dedicated over 40 years to teaching these principles, leaving a lasting imprint on the direct selling and personal development professions alike.
Sadly, he passed away in 2009 after battling pulmonary fibrosis, but his teachings continue to inspire millions across the world today.
His legacy lives on not in a single company, but in the countless individuals whose lives he helped shape, the leaders he mentored, and the philosophy he shared.
